A slew of wrist-based wearables have hit the market as of late – most famously Fitbit, Jawbone, the Nike Fuelband and the newest arrival, Google’s Android Wear.
As reported by Wired, at the Wearable Technology Show in London last week, a number of new products promising to go beyond what we’ve come to expect in a fitness tracker are slated to hit the market. The four most notable are as follows:
Misfit Shine – The smallest fitness tracker around, it can be worn anywhere and is waterproof to 50m.
Fitbug Orb – Another small pebble-like device, the thing that sets Fitbug apart from the pack are the app-based fitness courses that are being developed to work alongside it.
Xensr – This highly specced-out sports sensor uses Bluetooth LE to send information to your phone, or even smartwatch, about your sports performance in real time.
Myontec - These smart shorts tell you about your balance and speed in real-time as you run, balance or otherwise move.
One could argue that Apple’s rumored, Healthbook is the most buzz-worthy coming addition to the health and fitness market; but as with anything, only time will tell if the product live’s up to its hype.
